In Egypt, the New Kingdom was at its height, in Anatolia, the Hittites had carved out a vast empire, in the Levant, the Canaanite coastal cities were prospering through trade from Egypt to Mesopotamia, and in the Aegean, the Mycenaean culture was flourishing.
